For 27 years she couldn’t bite an apple. Then she did.
At 39, Nix got a full smile back at Vera Smile — in a single treatment plan, walking out with teeth the same week.

Before“I used to put my finger over the gap to imagine a full set of teeth. Now I catch myself smiling in the mirror, just because.”
— Nix Adams · 27 years apart
What Nix’s treatment involved
Remaining upper teeth removed; six implants placed for an All-on-6, plus two lower implants. A fixed temporary bridge meant Nix never left without teeth.
A fixed full-arch zirconium prosthesis on the upper implants and zirconium crowns across the lower jaw for a complete, balanced bite.

The 27 years behind that smile
Nix lost her first teeth on a netball court as a teenager, and lost the rest across the hardest years of her life.
It started small. A knock on the court as a teenager, then a dental plate she kept adding to as the years went on.
Then she lost her 16-month-old son, Alaska, suddenly and without warning. The grief was more than anyone should have to hold, and getting through it cost her years, and nearly all of her teeth.
What matters here is that she came back. Nix got sober, rebuilt her life, and turned her experience into a platform called CWK — Courage, Wisdom, and Knowledge — where she now helps others facing loss, addiction, and mental health struggles.
By the time she reached Vera Smile, only one thing was still missing: the smile she had wanted back since she was 11 years old. For most of her life she would stand at the mirror, smile, and hold a finger over the gap. She decided she had waited long enough.
